Web Site Changes / Important Announcments

This is where we'll announce the most recent additions to our web site, products and services. If you've visited us before and want to know what's changed, take a look here first.

October 10, 2004 - Attention all current and future users of the Agency Calculator™...
Development of version 2.0 of the Agency Calculator™ continues with a revised target release date sometime in the 1st Quarter 2005. We are sorry that this new version has taken longer to complete than originally planned but we think you will be very happy with the end results.

Based on YOUR feedback, we are adding several new pro-rata calculation methods (e.g., now you will be able to supply EITHER the annual or pro-rata endorsement premium and the software will calculate the other amount automatically). The new version will also let an agency set up its own pro-rata rate table (instead of being limited to a standard 10%). This feature will allow you to customize the calculated rates based on specific industry or company requirements. You will also be able to round to 3 decimal places (instead of 2), assume "20__" (instead of "19__") when entering only the last 2 digits of a year, and more!

There is still time to give us your input if there is anything else you'd like to see added to the program. Please use our Feedback form to send us your comments/requests. Please note that the new version will work with Windows 95/98, ME, NT 4.0, 2000 and XP. However, it will no longer support Windows 3.1. These users may continue to use the current version (1.5) of the software. Also, pricing has not been set for the new version but we will be offering a discount for all current registered users. When the new version is ready we will be contacting these users with complete details on how to upgrade to the new version.

January 23, 2002 - You can now purchase the Agency Calculator™ online using your VISA, MasterCard, Discover or American Express via PayPal - it's fast, free and secure!

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT...
McQuain & Associates, Inc. is proud to announce that we now offer Web Site Domain Hosting Services.

McQuain & Associates can now offer you "1-stop shopping" for all your web site needs! No longer do you need to go to one place to get your site developed, somewhere else to host your site, and back to someone else every time you want to update/change your site... McQuain & Associates can now provide you with ALL of the following services:

bulletDomain Name Registration - The first step in setting up your web site is to reserve a name (domain) for your site (e.g., YOURNAME.com, YOURNAME.net, etc.). This can be done prior to actually setting up your web site. The sooner you reserve a domain name, the better your chances of getting the exact name you want. McQuain & Associates will be glad to walk you through registering your name with InterNIC (the original "official keeper" of domain names in the USA).
bulletWeb Site Design and Development - Whether you simply need an "electronic billboard" or require a sophisticated online order processing e-commerce solution, we can help you design and develop a web site tailored to your specific audience. We handle all of the programming, HTML, ASP and Java coding, database development, graphic design, etc. required to create a site specific to your needs.
bulletHosting Services - You don't even need a computer to have your own web site! We offer a variety of pricing plans for site hosting services. "Hosting" means you are basically leasing space on someone else's computers and using their high speed connections to the Internet to hold your web site's files and data. Please note that "hosting" is different than the "dial up" service providers you may all ready be using to access the Internet (i.e., AOL, Earthlink, etc.). Plans start around $15-20 per month with discounts available for annual and two-year contracts.
bulletSearch Engine Registration - Your site won't do you much good if people don't know about it and can't find it. It is critical that you get your site listed with at least the "major" search engine services (Google, Yahoo, etc.) on the Internet if you want to ensure that people can find you. McQuain & Associates will walk you through the search engine registration process and will help you ensure that the search engines stay updated as your site changes and grows.
bulletSite Maintenance/Changes and Usage Tracking - Once your site is up and running you need to keep visitors coming back again and again! The best way to do this is to keep your site's content fresh and timely. This may be a little easier for sites that actually SELL a product or otherwise have some type of ongoing interaction with customers. Sites with more "static" content (i.e., an online "business card" or "billboard" site that only lists contact info, general service and/or product descriptions, etc.) may find it difficult to keep customers coming back for more. However, with a little planning and creativity there are ways to ensure your site becomes and stays a valuable tool in your contact with your target audience. McQuain & Associates will help you to track WHO is coming to your web site (by industry, location, etc.), WHAT they are doing there (which web page do they look at, which ones they don't, etc.), WHERE they are coming from (if they used a search engine, which one, etc.), and other useful types of analysis regarding your web site. We can assist you in making changes/updates to your web site's design so as to keep it "fresh" and visitors coming back for more!
